Cookies – what they are and their use

Cookies are small text files that can be saved on the file directory of the user’s computer (or other Internet-enabled devices, for example, smartphones or tablets) when the user visits the Websites and then transmitted to the same sites or to the third party that originally created the cookie the next time the user visits. It depends on the types of cookies. Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies have typical expiration dates ranging from two months to a couple of years.

How to disable cookies

Most internet browsers are initially set to accept cookies automatically. The user can change these settings to block cookies or to warn that cookies are being sent to the user’s device. There are several ways to manage cookies.
